Start with the documents your contact can identify
Request the Chinese legal name and USCC of the company that will sign the contract. Compare them with the licence and invoice issuer. A website footer or marketplace profile is a lead; ask the contact to explain it if it names a different company.
Keep the original Chinese text. Pinyin and English translations are useful reading aids but can lose distinctions between names.
Worked example: Unitree, Yushu and 宇树科技
The issuer-information section of a public filing hosted by the Shanghai Stock Exchange places the following identifiers together on PDF page 4 (printed page 3-1-3-3). The Unitree company website uses the Unitree Robotics brand. Sources were consulted on 5 September 2026.
- Chinese company name in the filing: 宇树科技股份有限公司
- English name in the filing: Yushu Technology Co., Ltd.
- USCC in the filing: 91330108MA27YJ5H56
- Website identified in the filing: www.unitree.com
- Brand used on the company website: Unitree Robotics
What makes this a supported match
The filing connects a Chinese legal name, an English name, a unique identifier and a website in one issuer record. Visiting that website connects the record to the public brand. This is stronger evidence than guessing a Chinese translation of the word Unitree.
It is a dated documentary connection. It does not verify a particular reseller, email sender, invoice or bank account, and it is not a fresh registry check. China Business Check is not affiliated with or endorsed by Unitree.
Handle a brand with several companies
A group can have separate manufacturing, export and sales entities. Ask which one performs each role. Search the exact Chinese name or USCC for the contract party, then compare the beneficiary separately. Similar English names, a shared logo or a salesperson's explanation alone do not establish the relationship.
If no source connects the brand to a legal entity, keep the result as a candidate rather than a confirmed match. Do not attach the registration history of a well-known company to an unrelated seller.
Record the link, not just the name
Keep the source title, relevant page, access date, Chinese name, USCC and the statement that connects them to the brand or website. Our public sample report shows this evidence trail and its limitations.
